How to update your Aadhaar Address online?

How to change your Aadhaar card address online? Follow the steps given below:

1. Click here on myAadhaar and sign in using your Aadhaar number, captcha, and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.


2. After logging in, click on 'Address Update'.



3. On the next screen, select the ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ option.

4. Carefully read the instructions provided, then click on ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’ and proceed to update your Aadhaar.

Please note - you have two options available here, please choose the correct one.
'Update Address using your document' Update your address using your document.
Or
'Update Address Using the Head of Family Member's Aadhaar' Update the address using the Aadhaar card of the head of the family.


5. Select the 'Address' option from the list and then click on 'Proceed to Update Aadhaar' to proceed with updating your Aadhaar.




6. Your current address will be displayed on the screen. Scroll down and enter the new information—including the 'Care of' details (such as your father's or husband's name), the updated address, and the relevant post office—and then select a valid address proof document from the dropdown list. Upload a scanned copy of the selected document and click 'Next'.

7. Review the information entered in the preview shown below.

If everything looks correct, make the non-refundable payment of ₹50.


**Please check if the document you have uploaded adheres to the following specifications:**

  • The document must be scanned straight and not rotated (e.g., tilted or upside down).
  • The text should be upright and aligned with the page.
  • The lighting should be uniform across the entire document, with no significant shadows or hotspots.
  • No part of the document should be too dark, too light, or blurry.
  • Any text and/or images on the page should not be obscured.
  • The entire document must not be blank and should be clearly visible within the scan boundaries.
  • The corners or edges of the document should not be cut off.
  • Any holograms, watermarks, microprints, or seals must be clearly visible.
  • All mandatory fields on the document must be present and clearly legible.
  • The document should not have smudges, fingerprints, or any other marks that obscure the information.
  • For multi-page documents, the pages must be included in the correct order.
  • The colors in the document should appear natural and accurate.
  • If the original document was folded, the scan should be flat enough so that all its contents are clearly visible.

The address correction/update process is usually completed within a few days to a few weeks, and the new e-Aadhaar card is updated. You can check the update status in the 'Application Status' section. Once the application status shows as complete, the new e-Aadhaar card can be downloaded.
